What Does Strength Look Like for You Today?
What does strength look like today?
I’ve started asking myself this daily. I’m learning to balance my friendships, relationship, health, family, self-care, a blooming writing career and social media platform, on top of working a full time job. I used to think strength meant “sucking it up” and “pushing through,” and sometimes it can look like that. But other days? It’s okay if it looks a bit different.
I’m quickly learning that in order to show up as a good friend,
girlfriend,
family member,
employee,
and to be the best version of myself, the meaning of strength needs to be…flexible, lol.
Because sometimes, strength looks like choosing to rest—to close the laptop and go to bed early. Sometimes it looks like advocating for yourself and saying no when you don’t have capacity for other things on your plate. Sometimes it means having a hard conversation with that friend for the sake of maintaining the friendship (instead of sweeping the issue under the rug). It can also look like asking for help, or processing uncomfortable feelings that you’d much rather avoid.
So, I encourage you to ask yourself: What does strength look like today? And what does my mind, body, and spirit need?
I’m rooting for you!
As always, this is a piece of my heart. Consider it yours. 🦋
